Carson Allen Francisco was presented to the Elders of the Church and given a name and a blessing. I am happy to announce that his name is still Carson Allen Francisco, not that i thought Blake would change it but I had to tease him about it. We were sad that no family could make it to the blessing but understood the circumstances and were very grateful for the friends that stepped in to be our family. The Hansons(friends from Cedar City that now live in Portland), Wilkonsons, Wheelers, Diehls, Gibbsons, Placteds, and Bishop Knudson. We also need to thank Jackie and Jim for the very cute Blessing outfit that the purchased for him and Grandma Elna for the beautiful white blanket that she crocheted for him. Somethings in the blessing that stood out to me; the first thing was Blake showed gratitude for having him here with us, he blessed him with Health: that he might be able to play sports, i know that this is something that is important to Blake that his little boy be healthy enough to do the things that he could not as child. He was also blessed to know the path which he might take, to serve a mission and marry in the temple.
I wanted to explain a little bit about what a Baby Blessing is for those that might not know. In the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints the members present their children to the Elders of the church and give them a name and a blessing. The church does not choose their name their parents do. This is just a time that it is stated for the records of the church. After the naming the father or priesthood holder gives them the blessing they feel inspired to by the spirit. This is not a baptism, we do that when they are 8 years old.
Here is a video of Carson in his blessing outfit and then just some fun pictures i have taken in the last week i hope you enjoy. The song that is playing in the background is Lady Antebellum's "If I Knew Then"
